Small Business doing Big Business: Supporting Army’s Win in a Complex World

For those of you who follow our blogs, you know I write regularly about the activities and programs the Office of Small Business Programs has to offer. Here is a synopsis from their website published on 25 August 2015. For the third year in a row, the Army will host a Small Business Seminar at the Association for the United States Army (AUSA) Annual Meeting. The seminar will take place October 13 and 14 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC. Previous seminars have been a tremendous success, drawing hundreds of representatives from small and large businesses as well as from government.

The theme this year is “Small Business doing Big Business: Supporting Army’s Win in a Complex World.” Confirmed speakers include Mr. Kenyata Wesley, Acting Director, Department of Dense Office of Small Business Programs; and Ms. Jackie Robinson-Burnette, Associate Administrator of Business Development, Small Business Administration. Panel topics include:

  • Information on upcoming requirements and contracting opportunities
  • Competitive proposal writing
  • An update on the SBA 8(a) Program
  • SBIR/STTR
  • How to use the Federal Procurement Data System for market research
  • Matchmaking between small business and Army representatives

The seminar is open to all attendees of the 2015 AUSA Annual Meeting. You can register for the AUSA Meeting at http://ausameetings.org/2015annualmeeting/. Please note that in order to register, you must have either an “identifiable relationship” with the U.S. Army or an invitation from the Army Office of Small Business Programs. To request an invitation, please send an email to ArmySmallBusiness@mail.mil
